Healing from Candida

For a while I’ve been thinking about how I should start this page because I have so much information about living a holistic lifestyle. I thought it might be wise to share my background and history with you on how I became so engrossed in living this kind of life. I had grown up on a healthy diet compared to my friends that is. It still consisted of a lot of bread, pasta and other processed foods. The major turning point for me began when my skin developed extreme itchy rashes that spread all over my body. I’m getting chills even when I think about it now because I suffered so much from it and for a good two to three weeks it really made its presence known to me! Sometimes I felt like they were using my body as a blank canvas and creating unique designs all over it!  This was around the same time when I would randomly wake up at the same exact time in the am for many awakened nights. It felt as though the universe had something planned for me. I would spend most of this time reading, studying and journaling usually about esoteric topics and my dreams if I was able to remember them. Back to my rashes-on some hopeful days I thought “this will go away by tomorrow-I just need to get a good night’s sleep” but this rash was very persistent and kept coming back in full bloom one day after the next and it kept getting itchier by the day!  I went to many doctors who prescribed medication and creams but I was very much against taking any of them because I felt that the more research I did on prescription drugs and creams the more I learned that they have more negative side effects than positive ones on your body. For example, steroid cream which is recommended by many traditional doctors for people who have psoriasis causes hair loss and probably many other negative side effects. In addition, many people who have taken steroid cream for this condition have reported that their psoriasis came back even worse than before they started using it. So I decided to start seeing alternative health practicioners and they were quite helpful with acupuncture, acupressure, herbal medicine, medicinal oils….but my rashes still didn’t go away. This marked the beginning of my extensive research stage which brought me to the realization that I was suffering from candida. I also discovered that my diet was making my candida worse which consisted of many fungus forming foods like mushrooms and different types of vinegars (except for apple cider vinegar which is the only vinegar that has the opposite effect on candida). Even before I got my rashes I had what I now know were candida like symptoms like throat infections, constant fatigue, spaciness…. A little later on I took a saliva and blood test which also confirmed that I had candida. To make a long story shorter I completely changed both my diet and lifestyle and started to surround myself with things that were more natural and pure. I would say about a few weeks after putting myself on my own regimen the rashes went away and if they came back I knew why. Since then I have not only lost weight but my mind is clearer, and I feel more energized. Sometimes when I have the craving for it I can even eat pizza without feeling sick afterwards! Initially when I went on my special diet I thought that I was only going to be on it until my rashes subsided but because I felt so much better physically, emotionally and spiritually I didn’t want to go back to living and eating the way that I had before. Since then I’ve been on a constant journey towards finding the purest holistic products out there as well as other websites that are on par with my Kinding standards:-) In the past couple of years I’ve also done a lot of traveling (see my Bio) in search of the highest quality holistic foods, products and healing tips. I learned a great deal at leading holistic centers such as the Hippocrates Institute in Florida and the Tree of Life Center in Arizona. I have also been learning about and practicing Ayurveda, Chinese medicine, Botany, Energy Psychology, East-West Psychology, the raw food lifestyle, and other forms of healing modalities. If you have any specific questions about my diet or other ways that I healed from candida feel free to post below or email me.
Tree of Life Center, AZ
This picture was taken at the Tree of Life Center in Az. This is a picture of their labrynth which I was told is the largest one in the country. I walked it a few times when I stayed there and it was quite a healing and transformative experience.

    Hi Bob,
Thanks for your comment. Many of these prescription creams or drugs do more damage than good. No one ever gets sick from a lack of drugs. Any and all diseases and illnesses are due to a lack of nutrients and an overload of toxins. One of the major sources of toxins are drugs, including over-the-counter medicines, birth control pills, hormone replacement treatment, blood pressure lowering drugs, pain killers, anti-depressants, which are extremely toxic and poisonous to the body. Drugs “force” therapeutic actions to take place in the body that suppresses symptoms and has negative side-effects, while natural foods and substances nourish the body’s ability to decide needed actions as it sees fit. If it’s an extreme situation that requires immediate attention it could be a different story. Ultimately, the best way to heal from fungal issues like candida is by taking preventative measures such as healthy eating, detox, exercise.. There are also many natural plants and herbs out there whether raw or in the form of tea ect. that are anti-fungal and/or anti-bacterial. A good example of this is raw garlic.
